The Government has outlined its plans and ideas for reform of the current somewhat complex State Pension benefit. Under the proposals there are 2 options, the first being to accelerate existing reforms bringing about a two tier flat rate structure by 2020 and the second option is the introduction of a single tier flat rate pension of £140 a week.
I personally welcome the simplification of proposed reforms and believe that both options are a huge step forward. In particular the second option is in my opinion preferrable as it would provide the much needed incentives for the UK residents to save more and plan effectively for their retirement.
