Majority do not have will, and one in ten keep them ‘hidden’

NOTE: This post is more than 12 months old, and the information contained within may no longer be accurate.

Research published this week from Foresters Friendly Society and ICM Direct revealed some interesting statistics about Wills:

  • 61% of people do not have a will
  • 1 in 8 have not reviewed their will for over a decade
  • 1 in 10 have a ‘hidden’ will, not notifying beneficiaries where it is

We strongly recommend all our clients have up-to-date Wills, and whilst we cannot prepare Wills or give legal advice, we can explain the broad considerations, and recommend competent local solicitors. I hold affiliate membership to the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners, and their website can provide a useful resource.
