We now have quite a few individuals who are likely to register for Fixed Protection on their Pensions. Much that I’d like to get on my soapbox about how unfair that this time we’ll have only 5-6 months to register (last time it was 5 years!), it does mean vigilance in keeping a watching eye on what HMRC do next.
As a reminder, it’s not just those with pension assets over £1.5m who need to take action, we have clients who due to their personal circumstances may only be at 60-70% of the new lifetime allowance, but will register.
In short: you’re well advised to seek advice, and we specialise in this area and are able to assist those who face confusion as to how the Lifetime and/or Annual Allowances will affect them.
